New Purchase to replace my E89

Top of my shortlist to replace the 35iS aswell, but I am concerned the V8 is just not potent enough? How does the butt dyno feel? I guess the manual gearbox and mid engines nature make up for the torque drop?

The V8 is 430 BHP and 0 - 62 said to be 4.6 sec and with the Quattro drive / mid-engine is just as quick as a 35iS and probably better handling. However, so far, I’be only the experience of a 30 minute test drive to go on but that was OK!
I guess I’ll find out for sure when I get it in about 10 days time! :roll:

One thing that really struck me was how nice and smooth the manual gearbox was, especially compared to the one in the Z4M - which I hated and was partly why I got rid of mine.

Absolutely. I tend to think the M is a love it or hate it car, which is why you often get them with so many owners.

I imagine that Audi is a well engineered car and who can turn down a V8, just if it was in a nice body. Did you not fancy a 360 David?

It will stay with the car as I don't really want to fiddle about swapping it back to OEM.

I did ask the so-called 'sales executive' if he would like me to list the BMW Optional extras and the non-BMW additions / extras but he declined and carried out his own 'inspection' before we haggled over the trade-in allowance. So, whoever the new owner is will get a Stage 2 tuned car with larger intercooler (386 bhp on a rolling road), GruppeM induction, Eibach Sport springs, Eibach front and rear ARBs, non-RFT tyres on 19" 326M rims together with paid up Connected Drive+ services to March 2020, heated seats with memory, wind deflector, front & rear PDC, adaptive lights with high beam assistant, cruise control with brake function, full Gtechniq ceramic protection and BMW professional loudspeaker system. All of that with only 6300 miles on the clock and a full service history can't be bad!

All together, the modifications to the car probably comes to around £5,000+ but they all added to my pleasure at owning and driving the car, so no regrets on my part! The next owner will be getting a cracking car but I do worry that they may not realise what's non-OEM and therefore not declare the changes / mods to their insurance company with possible negative results in the event of a future claim. I have asked the dealer if they would like the details, but they aren't interested so I guess that there's not much that I can do about it.
