New Puppy

We got a new puppy a few weeks ago to join our three year old Staffie, Arlo. She is a Miniature Bull Terrier & is called Lottie.
As a typical Bull Terrier she is pretty crazy but she is getting on really well with Arlo. She has just started going for walks & loves meeting other dogs so hopefully she will be a sociable dog. Starting puppy training next week - think that will be interesting :)

Fantastic. We had our latest addition about 3 months ago. They are hard work ( Just like having a child again ) but great fun.061FAF11-EF8C-4530-A787-67E2BDD6B5B6.jpeg

You say good-bye to an old dog and you wonder how the hell they knew so much and if you'll get all that ground work done with a new puppy.

We used to rescue GSD's at around a year old when inexperienced owners couldn't handle them. This time we got one at six months who the breeder had held for a buyer who in the end couldn't have her. Nice to get a 'box fresh' pup. We've had her about ten weeks now - my lad got a photo of her getting into Christmas!

How cute Fran, she's lovely. How long do you think the sofa will last.

I grew up with GS's and love the breed, she's a right poser Andy

Harry, nice pic, lovely dog

Yea but its each to their own - no better no worse than any other. We all go with breads we love and there's nothing better than your own pupper - even if they are a whole bag of mischief

Nice looking pup and dog. I had a Lottie dog for 14 years. Queensland Heeler, Best Friend, gone too soon. Her full name was Lottida for her kick back attitude. Got 5 dogs on the ranch now.

It’s what remains of a nylabone chew. They come in different strengths. We tried the various smaller ones which he demolished. That one is ‘wolf’ strength and when new was nearly as big as he is. You can see he has already chewed one end.

Used to have a Golden Retriever. Beautiful dogs. Mine went to work with me every day. He was se obedient and well behaved. I have been trying to train the wife in the same way but without any success.

lovely,
yes they are hard work although the older dog does help especially at night as Lottie is in the crate but Arlo sleeps on the sofa so she can hear him. She has slept through the night right from day one & only starts crying to come out when we come into the kitchen in the morning.
They also tire each other out especially when playing tug as neither will give up :)

She's gorgeous.
We were looking at getting a rescue Staffie or similar as a friend for Arlo as he adores other dogs. However the Bull Terrier rescues won't rehome to homes with cats (we have 4) and/or the ones at Dogs Trust etc all state only to be rehomed to be the only dog in the home. :(

The sofa is really old & battered but has stood up to 3 years of Staffie madness however Arlo is not much of a digger whereas Lottie likes to "lose" her toys down the back of the cushions & then dig them out. She also, so far, hasn't got into the habit of chewing furniture - tends to chew Arlo instead :o
