New project- Sterling

With the two Maldives cars completed I needed a new project car

This one popped up not a million miles from me-

03 3.0i manual
140k miles with 4 owners and last owner since 2015

It’s a big baggy so a full suspension refresh, some big breaks and the usual engine/vanos treatment is due

Good news is the bodywork is good- no rust and underneath is in good shape too

Interior wise, the seats need some love but already it’s showing promise. Some good extras like folding mirrors and heated motorised seats

Forgot how well a 3.0 pulls compared to the 2.5!

Already sorted an airbag light.
It’s got a steering angle sensor issue which I can’t clear either using toolset32 or inpa- so I assume I need to look at the bushes on the ring. The angles on inpa are way out and don’t move when the wheel moves.

Apart from that- I’ve decided the wheels need to go as I’m a purist….

Keep tuned for progress?

Good luck

If you are selling the wheels, what are you after?
I have to say that in their own right those do look nice wheels. But for me? Straight edges on a curvy car? Nah.

I see it as doing my bit for the environment.

Keeping these cars going and recycling

:poke:

Just 3 Rob- the holy trinity of M54’s

2.2/2.5/3.0

Don’t tell the missus
I think he meant total, not current!
Might have to take your socks off to add them up. :poke: :D
