I think you could get away with that plate on a coupe. On the roadster, especially an older one, it would look very chav.

why do you think it would be ok on the coupe but chav on the roadster?

more thoughts on this plate please, i'm thinking of fitting it to my coupe, good and bad thoughts appreciated

for me, its one step from having the st georges cross on the left hand side of the plate...

but, if you like it - go for it.

My view; if you are the kind of person who feels the need to conform to whatever the "Z4 image" is (remember general population view = unreliable german car, poorly built somewhere else and driven by w*nkers"???) then you take account of the general forum view, but if, like me, you feel no need to prove anything to anyone, you have a GSOH and you bought the car because you like driving it, then JFDI dear boy... :poke: :fuelfire:

Mind you - I bought this for less than £100 a couple of years ago, but ended up sticking it on my wifes dog-infested Nissan 4x4, cos I just thought plates with the vehicle marque on them were defo a bit bleedin obvious.....

Personally I think the image of the two cars is very different, and the coupe has a slight muscle car feel about it in part due to the predecessor being a complete animal. Even without it being an M car it carries some of that with it – almost a soft TVR sort of car? The original was a true petrol heads motor and that is why I feel you could get away with the devil on the plate.

Amazing car, big engined, lairy, hairy chested, so awfully ugly it is cool:

Whereas the roots of the Z4 come from a mediocre woman's/poof's* car. It was never a petrol head car, just a nice convertible motor with an upmarket badge on it and it carries through a little as well:

I could see that plate working on a TVR and in the same way your coupe. I can't see it looking the same way on a Z4 or an MX-5.

* I am not saying the fat nerdy bloke in the Z3 has ever stroked anyone else's dinkle other than his own, he is just a random example of an owner taken at random

Cartoons on number plates dont really impress me, but i can see why its an expression of saying im not a total BMW driver :D

Im getting a personalised plate for myself for christmas i think. Just hope its still available by then.

Petkiller, i like your theory

The plate i have had for over 10 years, T15 PVW to me is says T'is PVW, PVW being my initials

Dreamer, buy it now before it goes

I want to buy another plate and put it on retention for when i get my camper van, i have visions of touring in my camper with the Z4 on a trailer behind me
