Thought I'd just post a hello before I bombard you all with silly questions over the coming weeks and months. I am collecting my 04 Z4 2.2 on Saturday (so long as the snow holds off). I live in the center of London and last owned a car just over 2 years ago. I wish I had appreciated that most insurance companies don't take NCB over two years old. So other than the insurance extortion I am really excited to be back on the road.

Yes I did (and do) want a coupe, but I couldn't justify the additional cost. The car is for weekends and holidays only, I am stuck on the bike/train for my daily commute to Cambridge.

First things to do: fiddle with the buttons, clear the drains and hope my optimism for a hot & sunny summer pays off!

Any way, I am sure I'll be annoying many of you with questions soon!

Hi JeRkY and welcome.

I had the same issue with insurance as I gave up my keys for two years prior to buying a Z4. You may already have done so but it might be worth approaching the last company you were with. I did and even thought the rules said 'no', they honoured my NCB. Glad they did as I had over 20 years.

Enjoy the car.

Welcome to the club. I think you'll find the Roadster is a better choice than a Coupe anyway. You'll find the quirky rattles and leaks grow on you. And you can't fit a GapTech module to impress your friends on a Coupe! :D

This is a really helpful forum, so you'll get most of your questions answered quickly by those who know what they are talking about (not me!).

Good luck and happy roadster-ing!

Cheers.
