Thanks all for the welcome

This has to be one of the friendliest boards…everyone was was very helpful when I was looking at the car

Yes, it's mostly a friendly place, so long as you stay away from the Covid threads!

Anyway welcome aboard with your great looking 35is.

Glad you’re enjoying it and a great way to bond with your boy.

My 16 yo is asking daily if I’ve any update on when ours is arriving and can he come on a club run :driving:
It's not the club run he is interested in it's the car when he turns 17

He did ask tentatively about driving it  I showed his the No under 25’s clause on the insurance and that’s kept him at bay.

Nor as much as when we ran his prospective Clio through a price comparison site shortly after, he’s now looking for a 2nd summer job

Hard for kids these days to get reasonable insurance for sure - my lad was paying thousands but he did drive a 420d with performance kit when he was 18

Hi all

I recently bought TeeMacs car (E39 35is) having seen it advertised on here.

Nearly had it a week and as it’s stopped raining now I’ve had it machine polished and given it a clean. Car was a credit to TeeMac.. For a 10 year old car it was in great condition. I’ll move onto sorting the seat bolsters wear in a week or 2 then the car will be as perfect as I want it to be …. for now :)

Had my first open to drive in it and loving the sound of the engine and the way the car drives. Car gets loads of compliments which had surprised me. Had 3 neighbours stopping to talk about it which hasn’t happened with any of the other cars I’ve owned. My 12year old is also loving it which is one of the reasons I bought the car…. bit of father and son bonding time now ive retired.

Sorry for the poor pictures but here he is :)

Looks great - keep it standard is my comment :D

I dunno, Mr T. I find those a whole lot of fun (maybe I'm not normal though).
But, yes OP, it is a very good natured forum. They are a very hard bunch to get riled, so happy days

Hello and welcome to the forum, you’ve certainly got a lovely shine on your 35is  very nice indeed and they do sound sooooo good with the roof down :driving:

Sly move re the no under 25 insurance clause  Wonder if I can have no wife clause written into mine?

Very nice looking Zed in a lovely colour combination.
I like the silver mirror caps. Sets it apart from the lower spec models. Had them on my S5 with window surround and that looked nice.
Glad you’re enjoying your new purchase.
