new owner - where to start?

Took the plunge and managed to get the car I wanted.
Chopped in the wife's DS3 for a 2007 3.0 si roadster. Few more miles than I wanted at 90k, but drives well and has all the paperwork. Think it was the wheels that sold it to me, can anyone tell me what type they are? Porticos owner had them refurbished 6 months ago so they look great. Last service did the front shocks and wishbone bushes. Would they be the same as the lollipops I have read about?

I'm going to start slowly so just need a wind defector and I might be tempted by a new gear knob.. ZHP or Stormtrooper??? Are they weighted the same?

 
Hi and welcome to the forum, your wheels look like 108 starspoke's they were the wheels used in the original advert's on a stirling grey paint job if I remember correctly .
What size are they and do you still have runflats fitted?
As to your other questions I'm sure you will get fast answers from others on the forum.

Wheels are OEM 108, 18" staggered fit but refinished from the original silver. ZHP is slightly shooter and weighted which gives a shorter throw when changing gears and for me (I have one fitted) a more positive gear change. Several other mods worth considering - replacing the CDV (clutch delay valve) with a unrestricted version which allows for a more positive change 1-2 and a better driving experience. The rest depends on your budget.... :thumbsup:
 
Wheels are 18" and the runflats have been removed. I quite like the dark grey inners, did they come out of the factory like that?

Gear box is quite 'manly' especially after the rep-mobiles I've been driving lately so anything to help the action sounds good to me. I'll have to do a search on this CDV thingy...
 
Hi and welcome. The 108's would have been silver with the rim being diamond turned and then lacquered only.

You'll struggle to find a Stormtrooper gearknob as they are Stormwerks :wink:
 
CDV Looks like a no brainer... I'll have a look at it when I get back from the Singapore GP 8)

One thing I do miss though is the default three flashes on the indicators...

Just realised that there's no jack..lol

What's the thinking on which way to go on that one?

BMW Sissor Jack or generic bottle/trolley?

Also, with regards to the 3 wink indicators, I'm sure I saw a post on here somewhere listing what can be set using the code reader device????

Most have a low access trolley jack.

Three flash can indeed be programmed. If you have a laptop you can buy what you need on ebay for about £25
 
I bought a code reader, but now I'm thinking I should have bought some software for my PC !!

Or do I really need both? What do I need to buy to set the three flash?
