Hi guys,

Just brought myself a z4. I love the driving but just encountered my first problem.

Today while driving in the rain the dsc, ebrake, flattire, and abs light came on. After parking and driving again I also noticed my speedometer isn't working. I researched a bit and it seems that it is most likely the wheel speed sensor or the abs module? Most like the wheel speed sensor?

What do you guys think it is? if it is then I read that when the speedometer isn't working it is most likely the driver's rear wheel speed sensor, right?

Thanks alot for the help!

FIXED!!

So after some testing I found out it only comes on after driving in the RAIN. The day after when everything drys all the lights go away and my speedometer works again.

After some research I narrowed it down to the driver side rear wheel speed sensor(hence the speedometer doesn't work- the driver rear side houses the speedometer problem). After replacing that everything seems to be working correctly even in the rain. It seems that bmw didn't even try to hide the harness for this sensor, therefore water gets in it and probably short circuited it.

So if you have some time go buy the part online for about 90 dollar at ATE. Take off your wheel. It located on the left side behind the rotor. And held on by 1 allen hex screw. remove that and there a bunch of clips that leads to the left side wheel arch behind a plastic wheel well cover. Following the harness line youll see a box that houses the connector. Open that up and unclip and replace with new one. Hope this helps for anyone experiencing the same problem!
