First off, hi all - and hi to anybody that knows me from the Mini forums.

Ok, im looking at buying a Z4 within the next few months. Budget is around 18K. I was thinking of the 2.5 SE, im not too bothered about speed (Think ive gone through that phase with my moddified Mini Cooper S) - so may even consider the 2.0 or 2.2..

So on my budget i guess im looing at 2003 to 2005 year cars..

Question time, btw i have searched before asking (im sick of telling people to do that on other forums..LOL)

1) Are there any know issues, with any particular models? ( ie, on the g/f's MX5, 2001-2002 models suffered a dodgy slipping clutch)

2) There doesnt seem to an induction kit available? Or have i just missed it? ( By induction kit, i mean the likes of K&N) Can you only change to a panel filter?

3) Are there any sites that specialise in Z4 parts? ie, induction kits, Exhaust etc?

4) The Side repeaters (the circular indicators on side of car) Are the older orange ones changable with the newer clear ones?

Think thats it for know - LOL.

Any help or pointers would be great. :driving:

Welcome to the forum! I can answer #4 for you... yes they are changable... sometimes they crop on ebay, if not then they can be bought from the same place that does the clear windblocker, roadster solutions I think they're called (just do a search for clear windblocker) :D

Coming from the MINI Cooper S side of the house myself, you will probably be very disappointed at the amount of aftermarket parts for the Z4. There are some out there: LeatherZ, Dinan, Roadster Solutions, and a few others. Expect to pay quite a bit more due to the elusiveness of parts. Enjoy the car, it is a great auto without all the add-ons!

Well yeah, compared to the Mini its very sparse in terms of after market bits. There isnt much i havnt changed on the Mini! But after looking around, theres more than enough to keep me busy i think! Plus, the lack of after market parts might mean the Missus gets her new kitchen!!

Thanks for the welcomes :driving:
