New owner stupid questions

Just bought myself a ginger Z4.

It's the 28i model which I am told has some kind of twin turbo arrangement. Looking under the bonnet I am struggling to see where BMW fitted it!

Also the big knob in the middle that controls the sat nav and other electronics (I don't mean me) appears a bit iffy, while turning it it appears to think its being pressed down at times and keeps selecting the wrong thing. Is this a common issue, is there a fix or do I need to replace it.

Finally how do I get it out?

Nice car. It has a single turbo. Not sure about the idrive knob, perhaps someone split something sticky down there causing it junk up?
 
The N20 engine was described as ‘twin turbo’…as stated its a single turbo but exhaust gases go via two routes into the turbo..the so called twin scroll turbo..aims to generate boost low down and higher up..

The N20 engine has loads of space in the engine bay..look at a 35i for a tight fit..

Your idrive controller knob may be defective ..it’s fitted via screws to the bottom of the central trim which just levers out…with lots of wires attached..
