New owner - SatNav

Hello all. I'm about to be a new owner of a 2005 E85 3.0si with sat nav. I've been doing a lot of research. One of the first things I'd like to do once I get the car (hopefully next week) is replace the sat nav with an android screen. I found this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000049895334.html which says it's for the E85 with sat nav, but was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it. I've read another hot thread on this forum about these units, but that thread was a unit that did not support the E85 with sat nav. Any advice would be appreciated!
 
Alas I can't advise on this unit. I'm as interested as you to see if others can though. That looks a handy smart alternative on the face on it.
 
Your link is not compatible with replacing factory sat nav. The images before and after are 2 different cars. The after is a Z4 without factory nav, the base would not cover the large hole left when you remove the factory flip screen. The only one to cover it is the one I have which is for an X3 model. Even that needs altering to fit.
 
Also steering wheel controls don’t work as these units support canbus, the E85/86 are K-bus.

Not wanting to be pedantic, but if you've been sold the car as you've mentioned in the op, then check and ask a few questions... neither the 3.0si nor 2.5si were available in 2005 - they came out in 2006.
