New owner roof problems

Hi, First post and I have a problem with the new Z4 3 days owner!
Found oil on the drivers side rear of the sill and the hood no longer works.
Had a feel down the pump area and found one hydraulic tube has come off, it has a small bent tube and it seems to have come out the pump.
I take it the hood has to come out but can it be repaired?

Any help please, might just take it back to the used car dealer!

I would certainly take it back to the place you bought it. Hood repairs can cost you a packet at a BMW dealer. :(

Welcome to the forum. Hope you get it fixed ok

As others - welcome to the Forum. If you are taking the roof of - FIT A NEW PUMP, not worth doing a repair only for it to fail later. Take it back to the seller and see what they say - fit for purpose and all that.

What Zed have you got, colour etc.....

Yes it was fine, the last time we closed it yesterday it slammed at the top, that must have been the tube blow out.
Going back in the morning we will see what he says.

Well all day looking around I have found a guy in surrey, Caymans garage, seems he knows his stuff, sounds like one tube has blown out the drivers side hydraulic piston.
Dealer is taking the car down next week to be done.
BMW steelers wanted £90 to look at it and £1400 to do it!,
This guy has pumps for £270 but thinks it needs the tubes sorting and thats it.
I will be back!

Take advice on the condition of the motor, but if it's a 2003 fitment It may be worth having (or pushing for) a new, better sealed motor being fitted whilst the mechanics were in there, a modest sum (relatively) for parts now could save you trouble and a big labour bill later, just a thought. Hope you get it sorted in time for some late sunshine :driving:

Well good out come, I found a guy down in surrey Cayman Autos who fixed in, dealer picked up the car and drove down 120 miles each way and they fixed it.
A new pump had beed fitted before badly and that was the problem, clips missing of the tube ends and the pipes had blown out the ram.
All done.
