New owner, quick question..

Hi all, after much deliberation and several viewings I am now the proud owner of 3.0 2003 Z4. I cannot comment on the joys of ownership yet as the car is currently having some paintwork done (rear panel keyed when with previous owner) and all four wheels are being refurbished. Having learnt much already through reading many posts on these forums I thought it the best place to come to ask what is for me a pretty important question.

I know there is already a topic on this but from what I can tell no definitive answer - as my car does not have a switch to disable the passenger airbag (which I believe at the time was an optional extra) I would like to know if it is at all possible to get one retrofitted? I have called Vines at Guildford and they have told me that they are able to disable the bag completely but at a cost of around 400 quid :o There is according to the guy I spoke to to, no way to fit a switch. If anyone could cast some light on this subject I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks in advance :)

ah, thanks for the replies srhutch. Rather than 2 threads on the same subject I will follow Hark's thread, as the subject is more clearly titled I imagine it will receive better responses than my own. The answers so far are encouraging however, it would still be great to hear from someone who has actually carried out this procedure....anyone?

Vehicross - as a new Forum member welcome, perhaps an update in the Newbies section to introduce yourself...

Thanks all for the kind words, I will update this thread once I finally figure out what I am going to do about the airbag. It would be nice to take my son out occasionally so it is something that I need get sorted.

Also, thanks for the prompt AlanJ. I am hoping to get a few pics of the car once it is back from the bodyshop and post a new thread in the Newbies section to introduce myself then.

Cheers
