New owner, manual transmission oil change

Hello all, I have recently purchased a very nice 2007, Z4 3.0 si. I am in the process of changing all the fluids. I have put 1.5 litres of oil into the transmission, but none came out the fill hole, so is the recommendation to just add the specified amount or add until it just overflows? (I am used to old British cars, where you generally add until it overflows).

Yep.....keep going until it comes out the fill hole, should take about 1.6 lt. Unlike British cars no oil leaks doesn't mean it's run out of oil (MGB owner). :) and welcome.
