Hi all,
So, this week has been eventful.. I picked up my first Zed, completely off the cuff. I have never owned one but always admired from afar.
Purchased as a non-runner, as the previous owner was barely using it, and didnt really know what he had, I dont think. Came with no MOT etc and does need some TLC. So this could turn into a project thread!!
Anyway, I paid my money and dragged it on to a low loader Wednesday evening. 4 hours later it was on my drive at home. The next day, I went over it with a magnifying glass. Admittedly, I didnt really do this prior to payment as I just got that warm feeling about it (you know when you know). Obviously I had done my homework on the history etc and I was prepared to recommission it regardless. What amazes me the most, considering this car has seen so little use, particularly in recent years, is how it started first time, every time. No smoke, no rattles, no leaks. It amazes me.
Day 2, on the low loader again and straight to a local BMW specialists for a recommission job. At this time, costs have been left ambiguous. Ive literally no idea what this project will cost, but I am ok with that for now (might be tears)..
I think this is a rare or rareish spec, happy to be advised.. Personally I love the spec, it has what I wanted.
3.0 manual
Heated M sport seats
Cup holders! (Who knew!)
Parking sensors
The alloys are BMW but ive not seen these on many others, I dont know what they are nor particularly like them, so will probably change them. The sound system is knackered, so will be looking to replace that too. Advice on options is welcomed!
All tips, tricks, and hints are very welcomed. You lot will probably know more about the car than I do.
Based in Norfolk, always happy to meet up.
Cheers
Dan
