New Owner! - Been busy coding! (page 3)

And she has arrived! I say arrived..it took a day trip from Cambridge to Aberdeen and back to pick it up! Loving the noise and power, but I'm having a small niggle with the aux. Fairly sure it's phone related rather than the car as it worked perfectly on the test drive. When plugged in to my iPhone 5, the aux will work for a little while, but then the car will switch back to radio by itself, and if I try and go back to aux, the option isn't there. I can fix it by unplugging the phone, which makes aux reappear. Anyone had anything similar?

Obligatory pics after a polish and wax: Exhaust tip inners still need a good going over I know

Mine's the same, just recently fitted the Aux input for my standard business head unit, works great with my iPhone 5s; that is, until I plug the 5s into the cigarette lighter to charge through USB.

After 20 minutes of playing music from phone (or there about) system changes to the radio. Press mode back to Aux, minute later system flicks back to radio. Eventually I loose the Aux mode completely.

Its okay charging the 5s on its own, similarly it will play music from the phone through the aux on its own. But not the two together…

I’ve got a rather nice short Aux Lead and short USB Lightening Lead.

Any ideas?

Not a clue what the problem is - maybe a ground loop occurring somehow. Haven't actually tried using the headphone jack while not charging - will give that a go tomorrow.

Hope the handbrake works well.

Was out to give it a clean - lives in the (flat) garage usually :D

Beautiful car and just a fantastic colour, especially when it's clean and the sun shines on it. One of only 17 UK-registered RHD Midnight Blue Z4MC's. :driving:

Very nice! Midnight blue is a very rewarding colour to clean. I image sepang combo looks great.

On the question of folding mirrors, I've just asked the indy who servicing mine to code the mirrors to fold when pressing and holding the lock button. I'll let you know how they get on, but they seemed confident.

Been busy with NCS expert this evening and coded in a few things:
- Easy access window drop on the remote (this wasn't activated from new)
- Alarm chirp on lock (I'm forgetful sometimes so the sound is useful for me)
- Hazard light double flash unlock
- AE's as DRL
- DSP to E85 settings (night and day difference)

I've also wrapped the grills in gloss black vinyl (no pictures - dark by the time I had finished)

I've been searching around for mirror folding but to no avail, look forward to seeing if your indy can get it done Ed! If anyone would like anything coded to their M (or Z) then I'll happily help out.

Thanks for the comments on the car everyone, I'm loving every minute of ownership (apart from trips to the pumps..!)

There are some DSP settings about somewhere which make the DSP sound very good indeed.

A bloke took a test CD into the car with a MIC and did a proper job of tuning the DSP settings.

The aux issue sounds odd, get an intravee. :D

Can do quite a bit with the intravee such as welcome and goodbye lights on lock / unlock, unlock door locks when you switch off the engine, etc, etc.

Yeah - I found the thread on zpost by pungo who used an spl meter in the car and tuned it. Just took his trc file and uploaded it to my car. I'd definitely recommend for any coupe owner!

It seems the confidence was a little premature. It seems it isn't possible on our cars :scratchhead:

Relatively new to the Z4MC having only had mine for a few weeks, interested in this bit of coding for AE's as DRL, can you share what's involved with that? I have no idea what's involved with this coding you refer to, is it via a laptop in the OBD port or some obscure selection of pressing buttons and turning the ignition key 10 times while rolling your trouser leg up..........

Hi and welcome. Realy fine looking Coupe. I never got thr harsh ride thing either. My roadster rides better than my Mazda3 sport. It does hop about a bit, at full attack, on bumpy B roads though, adds to the fun. :driving:

Laptop and OBD stuff, no special handshakes here. Though I haven't actually managed angel eyes as DRL yet, need to go back to the drawing board on that one.

Been reading around and I think my RTABs are giving me trouble, especially under acceleration when going over the crown of a road to overtake - does anyone have any recommendations for specialists in the hertfordshire/cambridgeshire area?

For now, here's a couple of new pictures:
