New original headlights

I know this has probably been done guys.

Spent 2 hours trying too clean and restore my halogen headlights on my z and they still look cr*p.
So I have decided to buy new ones, the ones on eBay for £350 look nice but need wiring to the side lights to make angel eyes working and can't find how to wire anywhere. I can buy new original ones but with clear indicators but they all seem to come from America. Anyone recommend a place to buy original replacements so no wiring.
Now all I need to do is watch how to remove front bumper.

think you wire them into the side light wire, i looked at these as one of my xenons has packed up, but sadly i need xenons for mine to work....typical

Are you talkin bout 2xcite units, I got these and wired my own setup.
When you unlock car angel eyes fade up to full brightness and when in car they dim down to zero.its controlled from the interior circuit.i didn't connect the long white strips on top and wired the angel eyes as the sidelights.had to use a pair of caps as I connected to two different circuits and didn't want feedback.....one advantage of this is the caps store a small charge so when you leave the car at night the angel eyes stay lit dimly as caps discharge
 
What have you done so far to restore?

If your going to buy aftermarket headlights why don't you cut open your current ones as mine were 'cloudy' inside the units so cut them open, hand polished then resealed including adding AE's at the same time. If you cock it up or they are still cr*p then buy new units.


(Ignore the indicator, need to change the coding)

I have tried , toothpaste, baking soda and T-cut restoration kit.

They're all substandard of the shelf methods. The best solution would be to wet sand the headlights using 2000, 2500 and 3000 grit sand paper then machine polish to remove the fine scratches, finally apply a UV sealant to protect the lenses.

I have booked it in for Thursday so I will do before and after photos and post the results

I think I have the same issue.. looking forward to seeing the before/ after pictures mate..
