New noise - help needed!

Hello,

Recently changed the front and rear brake pads (and sensors) and all was well for a few days.

Now there is a noise which sounds like a worn wheel bearing, but I can't tell where it's coming from. I've checked each wheel off the ground for play and free movement and all is well. The noise is worse at low speed and goes away when the brakes are lightly applied.

I'm confused and would really appreciate some advice if possible!

Thanks in advance

Phill

You mention a recent pad change, could it be a sticky caliper?
Maybe a rear pad is dragging leading go the noise, then the noise disappears as the brakes are applied and both pads engage the disc?
Are any of the calipers hot after a short trip - take care investigating incase one is hot! Start with the alloy wheel into hub into caliper just incase. I've seem a few people have replaced / refurb'd calipers.

Hi thanks for the quick reply!

I've had a look at all of the wheels and can't replicate the noise when spinning each wheel.

All calipers were cool after driving when the noise first started. I have just done a short drive in the car and now there is no noise!

It could be something now that is happening when the brakes are getting warm perhaps. I read somewhere that the shroud around each disc could have been disturbed and is contacting a disc ever so slightly when it gets warm. A long shot I know but going to have to take each wheel off and have another look.

My drive to work tomorrow will have to be done radio free so I can have a good listen :driving:

Hi Badger, thanks for the info! Do you have a fix for this if it is the problem?

Thanks
