Doesnt look half bad in my opinion and those retro-ish round dial/switches look pretty sweet. Also notice the hardtop in the last photo.

I like it. Is it due out at the end of this year or is it actually going to be 2009?

I'm guessing that's not the sport model though?

I see they have a push button start... finally can get rid of the embarrassing "80's style" key

I'm glad they kept the 3-spoke steering wheel and 2 'pod' cluster, although the new wheel does look a bit fatty.

I'm also curious about the electric parking brake. I don't see how that could be superior to a lever.

I hope the electronic parking brake has manual release though.

In the UK the Volswagen Passat has an electronic parking brake which you apply only, the car release itself which by all accounts is a real PITA.

Does that meen that there will be no remote top down feature?

Noticed that the metal and wood trim in the interior is gone as well on the dash.

Hmm, wish we could see the outside....

I HATE push button starts. The most pointless gimmick of all time. Hate them hate them hate them.

R/C/L is fine, but turning a key to start a car was one of the most satisfying things ever...the motor industry should have kept it!

Grrrrrr

If the stereo is going to go down there it would be nice to have a cover over it like the S2000. I think the knobs are a bit 60's cooker but in the flesah might look quite sturdy.
Verdict - Could be worse :)

What i can see behind the shrouding i do not like  do not like the knobs or gear shift at all look cheap

I remember my Granddad saying the same things about using a key to start the car nothing but a gimmick. The starter button on the floor worked just fine!

I agree thats tradition, and whats more traditional is having it on the dash, not the side of the steering column where you cant see, bmw most have failed key ergonomics 101
