New mod - bouncy windscreen wiper

Although not a mod id suggest to anyone!!

For unknown reasons my wipers have started bouncing back up the windscreen anything between 1 and 3 inches after the come to rest. so either after being turned off or on intermitant wipe.

Just bounces into my eye line and is very annoying, any ides? I have auto wipers if that makes a diff?

Also started to squeek as they wipe but I guessed some wd40 would sort that
 
Common problem, although 'bounce' is probably not the correct term If I interpret correctly when switched off they are cycling past the lowest point and parking a few inches up the screen.

There are how to's to fix this by removing excess grease from the wiper motor housing
