For info, this was my old JCW MINI:

How is the performance in the real world????? :poke:

If it's anything like my old JCW, it would embarrass your M!! :P I remember a test with the JCW MINI that EVO mag did on the Welsh roads as part of a group test. The guy writing the article couldn't understand why he couldn't loose the guy behind driving the MINI and he was driving an M3! That was until they swapped cars! :P The corner speed the MINI can keep up without loosing it is awesome!

Right back on topic - hope you get the Mini today and let's see what it looks like

We pick it up around 4pm today. Got the next 2 days off so will get a drive around in it at some point.

I'll get some pics tomorrow. I would post them on here, but someone will probably come up with a list of faults with a pepper white coloured car! :poke:

Well, here is the Z4's new stable mate!! Been out in it all evening. They are great drivers cars and that turbo engine with the sport button pressed is impressive!! (doesn't sound as good as the Z4 mind!!). Such a positive drive though! Feels more confidence inspiring in the bends than the Z4 actually!!

You keep forgetting that I used to own one also :P

Looks good and the drive /performance is outstanding for a 1.6 engine. I too consider it would give my 3.0 Zed a serious run for it's money

Looks good. Only thing for me would be to lose the bonnet stripes, but that's just me preferring a subtler look (kinda hard with a MINI though I guess!).

Like the contrast between the white bodywork and the black trim/wheels/roof. Good choice.

Gonna go against the trend here... not too keen myself.

something about the new shape mini's doesnt quite work for me :?

I actually agree with you there. I still prefer the first gen shape. But, this car, in this colour combo, looks awesome in the metal. Like most cars, pics just don't do it justice!

Back in the Z4 today and I will say that I would miss that engine if I sold my Z4. :)

Then you didn't need to ask the question then did you? :poke:

Funny you should mention problems!! Was at the dealers today with the Z4 getting stuff fixed. I can put up with a MINI having problems, but not a so called "premium vehicle"!!! :?

Think I may be taking a trip down to Nissan tomorrow!

Had a good look aroud a 370Z coupe last weekend and was really impressed, v6 looks physically tiny compared to the straight 6 in the bmw though.

Drove the std 1.6 Mini (non Coop) a year or so ago and wasn`t very impressed, I expected more, thought it would be more fun. Thinking back, the best thing about it was the smiles and waves I received from other female mini drivers - a few were real babes too.

The Cooper S is a fantastic little car - there are some quality problems about, but they are infectious. Mine was pretty hassle free - one of the front seats needed some attention early on, but that was the only build issue. I had a NIGHTMARE with the roof rack where it was installed completely wrongly by the dealer, but that was sorted out - the thing that really annoyed me was that when I came to change it, the same dealer who fitted the roof said that "oh, you have the roof rack fitted, we can't sell that - it would have to go to auction" - THEY FITTED IT!!! On top of that, they had no issue at all with the fact I'd had it modded by a 3rd party to 220bhp...

Anyway - I'm actually trying to buy my Mini back off the person I sold it to at work - my wife misses it too much, and to be honest so do I. 3 cars though...
