Hello All
Had to give up my Z3(160,000 miles with no issues until everything started going to pot recently) for a 2004 Z4 3.0 with 30,000 miles, seriously torn with the decision, but I'm glad I did(maybe time to grow up just a little bit).As much as I love the Z4, it feels "soft" and heavy, already have pads, disks and stainless brake lines on order and am going to make a strut bar, but looking for ideas to help with power, I'm not a horsepower freak, I prefer handling and response over top speed. Had to make some changes to the interior, didn't like all the shiny bits...looks much more elegant now I think...(can't have a roadster without a leather shift knob)now if I can just do something with those damned ugly chrome wheels. Hope I worked out how post photos.
BTW don't ask what color it is, I'm not really sure, changes from sun to shade...think it might be periwinkle... z42_zpsc72b7ddb.jpg z43_zpsc487b0b4.jpg

Just realized, I didn't introduce myself, my social skills on the computer are somewhat lacking...sorry
Cheers, Ingmar

From the pics it looks like mine which is Toledo Blue.
Mine seems to change colour in different lights, seems to show its true colour on a dull day.

You're right, does look best on a cloudy day, very attractive color really...and Toledo blue sounds better than "periwinkle"...

Have a look on the vin plate in the engine bay and if the colour code is 482 then it is Toledo Blue.

Toledo blue quite a rare colour, yes the wheels must go try some 224 s, 108s if your looking for an OEM look.
Welcome btw
Absolutely love 108's, but not prepared to spend $1200-$1500 on a set, repro. or otherwise, will plasti-dip dark grey for the time being, rather spend the money on handing upgrades.
Can't wait for tires to wear out, hate the run flats...

Welcome great looking car  I like the wheels maybe just a bit to shiny I agre paint these ones. Maybe if you have the patients and it takes ages mask the front face and paint in the spokes? But defiantly leave the dish shiny that would look dogs 8)

It might be the light but i haven't seen a dash trim like that before it looks very nice. Cant you get some more pictures please?

Definitely Toledo Blue same as mine, great colour in the shade, not too impressed with the purple effect in bright light though.

(Now then Benross; oh yes, we shall be looking very carefully at your posts in the future. . . . .)

Welcome ijansen,

Love your colour description - 'periwinkle'! Made me laugh  I must try and come up with such a name for the colour on my Zed - Stratus Grey?! I'm still undecided about it and would love to have a suitable description that made me laugh.

I'm with Machine monkey - more photos please and some detail on what you've done with the interior.

I kind of like the wheels but need to see some more images. Double colour wheels with dark centres do look cool. . .

Keep us informed of your progress - took me some time to bond with my Zed but now I love it - hope you achieve the same outcome.

:driving:

Sorry, the mrs is a teacher so I get corrected a lot, must have rubbed off!

I'm liking the interior, subtle but nice

I'm not sure if it should be when referring to her as 'the mrs', possibly if I were saying Mrs Benross?

Just to confuse things more, my names Chris, and we aren't currently married. :D

That's exactly what I plan with the wheels, "metalic Anthracite" plasti-dip on the spokes and leave the rims shiny for a little flash. As far as the interior, everything that was glossy grey plastic got wrapped with satin black vinyl, everything that was "brushed aluminum" got wrapped with "brushed black finish" vinyl, and of course my beloved leather shift knob. :)
Will definitely post more photos in a day or two, when the wheels are done.
