Hello all,i've been viewing the forum for a few weeks now and finally joined.
Firstly i'd like to say this is the first time in my 21 years of driving that i've owned a car with a bigger engine than a 2.0.
So i've purchased a 2.5i z4 on a 03 plate,it's silver and it needs a fair bit doing to it.
The list is as follows;
air bag light on(will post in the other area)
bonnet release cable needs relacing(stretched,i think)
door bowden cable?(opens from outside but you need to really pull on handle),another one for discusion in other post,
needs a good service,
and thats about all for the minute. :o
I brought it at a reasonable price so hopefully if i can get the bits done myself or if i have to go to a specialist i'll be able to keep costs down :cry:
Anyway i've had numerous cars over the years some good,many bad and i'm not a stranger to the open top,i had a mx5 for a couple of years,but i've got to say the zed is in a different league.
Appart from the issues it drives really well and i can't wait for the modding to start.
anyways i'm off to list the airbag fault code in the faults discussion part.
Hope to contribute in some of the other discussions and banter later.

Hi and welcome. Both issues you mention are fairly common and cheap/easy to fix.

The bonnet release is as simple as lubricating the catch. Use a PTFE spray.

Get yourself on the Z4 map :thumbsup:
 
thanks to you all nice welcome,i'll get some pics up once i can get it out of the garage its in bits at minute.
just need to sort the bits and can't wait to drive it again.
might be better staying in bits cos the other half keeps looking at it waiting for a go(she's not driven it yet),and i know once she drives it i'll never get the keys back lol. :lol:
