Hi all, just got myself a fixer upper.

She has codes P0101 and P0700 and does not shift out of 1st.

The motor otherwise runs strong. Time to get to work!

Is it an auto? If so the selector switch on the side of the box under the car can fail, or need the plug cleaning. It would show the gear cog on the dash too.
Sometimes you can get it to work by shifting the lever to Neutral before turning the ignition on and starting the car.

Those two codes both seem to relate to the DME, but you say the car runs ok?
I take it they won't clear then?

Thanks Zed. Yes, an auto. Do you think it could be a TCM issue? Is the TCM in the rear of the engine bay on the driver's side?

TCM?
The gear selector switch is bolted to the left side of the gearbox, under the car.
