Welcome along- with your budget I would guess you are looking for a e89?
Some solid 3ltr E85's out there for your budget. Worth a look.

Possibly depends what you want really. The E85s are a bit more raw, the E89s a bit more of a GT. E85s have a hood, E89s have a folding metal roof.
Your budget should get you a really good E85 3.0Si which is probably the best regular E85 model, so not including the Alpina or M which would be out of budget anyway!

That price puts you into good examples of the first generation Z4 the E85 with quite a broad choice..or it takes you into second generation E89s..probably only 23i models at that price..but quite a few on the market so should be able to get a good un..
Rag top vs moveable tin top..likley to have the same engine the N52 ..E85s at the price will 2.5 or 3.0 litre..on E89s only the 2.5 litre..
