Ah, I wondered how Buzyg has managed to get a picture without it being posted on the other thread.

Just the whippy to change to a stubby and the indicators upgraded to the newer (LCI) versions then...(and possibly the runflats need changing..) :fuelfire:

We love a picture of a Z! Welcome!

And what's the issue with the runflats ?

I have so much to learn....
It really depends on your driving style and if you're on 19" wheels (I think you are but I believe those style wheels also came in an 18").

These wheels are prone to cracking, and people suspect that the runflats make this more likely - plus they dont ride as well - more noise/tramlining.

I had both, and depending on your driving style, you may/may not notice it. others say that 19"s & runflats give a very harsh ride that is very uncomfortable (I never felt that myself, but I am not a boy racer!) :D

Plenty of advice on here and mostly I'd say the consensus is that that non runflats are better (but then you need something in case of a puncture too)

thanks for the info
no worries..

the LCI (newer) indicators are a marmite thing too... but I like them (and very easy to replace)! prices vary but this is reasonable..

Hi and welcome, sorry to add to your list... 2 relays for the roof (about £16 each from BMW) guaranteed they've never been changed. Nice looking car.

Oh dear.............. indeed you do! Stubby indeed! :headbang: :D
Welcome aboard anyhow.
Looking at your photo taken at that angle reminds me why I popped 15mm spacers on the back wheels. I have the same wheels as you and they now fill the arches so much better.

EDIT: I swapped the run-flats to GY Assy 5s and the difference in handling and comfort were a huge revelation. Not sure that these 18" wheels do suffer from cracking but honestly, getting rid of the run-flats is a no-brainer...............in my eyes anyway.

Lovely looking car, welcome.

I ran runflats on my E86 on OE 18" wheels for years, but recently switched over to non-runflats when I changed my wheels to a different OE 18" style of wheel. In my opinion, this resulted in a slight improvement in ride and I haven't noticed anything significant in terms of handling. I enjoy driving my car but I don't regularly explore the limits of its grip or track it. However, I went from good condition Michelin Pilot Sport 2 Zero Pressure to new Michelin Pilot Sport 4. I have a distant memory that the Bridgestone runflats that my coupe came with were not good. I would say it probably depends on the brand of runflats you have and how worn they are.

Mine are 18s I think
I'll see how they feel - thanks for the info :D
18s should be fine,it's the 19inch e89 alloys that are prone to cracking.
Non Runflats are a good improvement, but some don't mind Runflats, and the newer versions are way better than the ones that were around from the earliest versions of them
All a matter of personal taste,as said, you will need a can or two of tyreweld or similar puncture repair foam if you ditch the Runflats.

See how the carv feels to you,and if you're happy with it,no harm sticking with the rfts

Nice z4,and welcome to the forum :driving:
