Hi guys, new here, just bought my first Z4 today. Its a 2006 2.0 SE. Took it for a test drive fell in love lol. I got it for a good price as I was able to haggle on account of the roof motor not functioning. My guess the drain holes are blocked and the motor housing is water logged. I'm not too worried about this as it drives well, and got a full service from the dealer. I'm pretty handy mechanically so I'm planning a new motor and replacing the motor myself. Just wondering if you guys have any tips on things to watch for? It's got just over 79k miles on it. Any tips are appreciated thanks guys.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on buying a stunning looking Zed.
Don't see many in that colour.
There are forum members who do roof motors so you get plenty of info here
Where about's are you

Hi and welcome.

Bonus points for a photo in your 1st post too!

There are a few forum members that can usually revive roof motors and relocate them to somewhere dry, depending on where you are.

But I think there is a "How To" if you fancy doing it yourself - but from what I have read about roof motor prices you might want to regard a new motor as a last resort!

Hi and welcome to the forum, you can’t beat being hands on and having a go at fixing things you get a great deal of satisfaction when completed, as said car looks grand and a lovely colour.

Welcome along, car looks great. There must be some stunning scenery local to you, great to take In from the roadster, enjoy!
