Your car looks gorgeous in white. My girlfriend said she saw a white coupe in Southwood in Farnborough yesterday.

My car is Silver Grey with Imola Red interior, and is from Cooper in Cobham. Test drove it on Saturday and bought it on Sunday, although they would not move on the price at all, even after about 12 hours of negotiating. Very hard to bargain with that dealership.

Did you go and look at the one in Cobham ? As they reckon they had someone else test drive it on Saturday.

Do look forward to it. Fantastic car. A word of warning though. I bought my Z4MR from Coopers Chelmsford in January 2009. I was told over the 'phone (they are 80 miles from me) that it was a "one owner car". When I collected the car I discovered that there was no locking wheel nut key. This was pointed out by me & a Techie came out & was made to give me his personal key. I discovered, speaking to said Techie, that BMW only have 18 different wheel nut key patterns (he showed me his box of keys), but also have a "Master" key that fits all BMW locking wheel nuts. That is disturbing.

When I got the car home I discovered that there was no "BMW toolkit". That mattered not one iota - but for the fact there was no screw-in towing eye. The important Service booklet & ///M owners supplement were also sadly missing. No problems, after a 'phone call Coopers posted a new toolkit & the Service booklet to me. However, on inspection of the service history there was no record of the (required) 24 month Brake Fluid change. A 'phone call established that this had in fact been carried out so I annotated the Service book myself.

When the V5 arrived 2 weeks after I bought the car I was horrified to see that this "one owner car" was previously registered to "BMW Leasing"... When I contacted BMW Cooper Chelmsford I was then told that they had purchased my car through a BMW "Closed Auction". Don't get me wrong, the car is great but be careful. Coopers are owned by the Inchcape Group & pay Peanuts for Monkeys to work for them. Check everything out on both car & documentation before you sign for it.

Also, the factory Z4MR/Coupe is an absolute swine to drive smoothly from 1st to 2nd. You will need to remove the CDV (Clutch Delay Valve) to avoid embarrassment/annoyance. Dead easy. Look at www.zeckhausen.com/cdv.htm.

I totally removed this little bugger on Monday this week & what a difference to smooth driveability......

Here's how: Loosen the NSF wheel bolts. Jack the car up & remove the NSF wheel. Undo the four (4) 10mm bolts on the rearmost undertray. Pull the alloy cover off. You can now see the black rubber hose going to your clutch slave cylinder. Use a "Mole-Grip" to clamp the rubber pipe (Don't be shy on pressure, you won't damage the pipe) to stop fluid flow. Use 11mm & 17mm spanners to disconnect & remove the nasty CDV valve. Re-attach the 11mm flexible pipe directly to the slave cylinder connector. Try the clutch pedal. If you properly clamped the rubber hose then the clutch pedal will feel it's normal heavy self. If it feels loose then you have cocked it up with insufficient clamping (that will be obvious if clutch fluid leaks on your arm under the car!).

Your ///M will be transformed beyond your wildest dreams.

Re-fit the alloy undertray (4 x 10mm bolts remember)
