Hello I have a 2009 Z4. I have noticed a noise whilst stationary coming from the drivers side over the rear wheel. I took the car to BMW. They advised me that it would need to have a diagnostic test which would cost £100. I booked my car in and arrived with my car. One of the service guys said they have chatted to one of the mechanics and he said Z4's have had problems with the fuel pump and my problem was probably this. He said let's first run computer reset, as this probably will fix the noise. I did as he advised, picked up the car later on the same day paid the £167.00. As soon as I got into my car the noise was still there.
My question has anyone else on this forum had the same problem? Do you think I now need to go back and get a diagnostic test done? £100! Or shall I just assume it is the fuel pump and just get that replaced? And lastly does anyone know a garage that doesn't charge BMW prices that could do this for me and likley costs? BMW did say it would cost about £1500.
