Oooh that looks cracking. Love the CSL reps and I'm a sucker for a shiny motor. :driving:

Welcome, Bimmercode will let you either switch off start/stop completely or have it remember last setting.

Hi all, newbie from Dunstable here. Had my little 2.0i baby for two months now and couldn`t be happier ! Love the way it tackles
roundabouts and puts a smile on my face just sitting in it. Changed the plugs ( originals had been in for 91k ) and despite its recorded
recent service both the air and cabin filters were shockingly bad so changed those as well.
Any advice on changing the oil , or indeed anything to watch out for, would be very welcome. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum.

If your roof motor still works the best thing you can do is get it relocated to the boot - unless that has been done already!

The car now looks slightly less in order. An Astra driver failed to notice me as he joined from a junction and modified my
nearside rear quarter. l feel quite shaken although l don`t know why, nobody was injured and the other driver was a perfect gentleman.
At least l hadn`t got around to clay bar and polish.

Maybe l could have chosen a better username !

That is not good news, quite a few of us feel your pain - but as you say no one is hurt and that the main thing.

User name is now very apt unfortunately

It is difficult but l can`t change anything.

I turned 70 in August and had a slight down shift in mood. Gave it a couple of coats of thinking about it and came to the conclusion that
my diesel Golf had to go.
Pre divorce l had the odd 911, 944S2, etc. but you come to realise that you cut your cloth accordingly. My cloth has been modified by the
bump. So l have to re-cut.

Yes, the Astra driver f**ked up but he admitted his mistake. lt is what it is.
could be worse.

P.S. us Ole gits have to stay together !

Seems it has been assessed as a total loss. The damage assessor poked a camera underneath and took a photo pointing upwards.
My mate at F1 tyres had it up on the lift and showed me a snapped upper suspension arm. I am now annoyed !
They have yet to get back to me regarding valuation.
I want it back " N " classified or not ! Everything still works with no warning lights.
Sorry to be a needy newbie, any advice would be truly welcome. :tumbleweed:

My plan would be to replace top and bottom suspension arms, the wheel bearing, buff out the skid marks and gaffer tape anything else !

They seem to want to "write off " anything these days.- I would try and identify any structural damage and if there's none, replace the damaged bits.
Does it still drive ok ?
