Hi thanks for having me. My name is Mike and I have recently bought a low mileage 35is. My first venture into Z4s but tainted by its initial electrical problems. Drove home fine, but then first an engine fault for oil sensor, and now exhaust cam sensor, so all being well, parts are ordered and Saturday will be getting a service and parts changed. Just hope it does the trick so I can start to enjoy this beautiful car, and get to a few meets as well and meet some of you

Good choice Tank. I’m pretty new on here too. The folks here are super helpful.

I have a feeling I will be needing help very regularly at this rate lol

Hopefully not.

Hi,and welcome to the Forum
Lovely looking VO e89.

The cars do have their issues, like most Sports cars
On the 35is things like High pressure Fuel pumps can go,or,as discovered, Exhaust cam sensor.
The later being something that occasionally gave problems on the E85/86.
Thankfully they are not too expensive.

Hopefully you don't have any more issues, and can get out and enjoy it.

Where abouts are you?

I’m in the West Midlands. So looking forward to the meet in Leicestershire later this year, with a trouble free car 👍👍

Hello and welcome aboard.
You have chosen the best colour, well done.

I do like the fact that BMW kept the colour coded mirrors on the orange cars, not the odd grey looking things.

The joys of modern electronics. Looks the business mind you. Welcome on board. 8)

Welcome ..I’d ignore the HPFP from Craig..yours is a late spec car ..by then the HPFP issue was low down on what could possibly go wrong list..

When it’s next serviced get the garage to check the index numbers on the injectors …coils and plugs get chewed frequently by these N54s

Cars 7 years old but only just done 13k miles, so guessing lack of use could be part of the reason I’m having sensor issues???

Best you correct that then

I’m wanting to, already done more miles since owning than between last mot and one before, but just need to get these blasted sensors done, service it and replace brake fluid first, then can whack on a few more miles 👍👍👍

Hello and welcome, best colour and model by far  :fuelfire:

Re your electrical issues how old/what condition is the battery and also worth checking the salmon relays for the roof and if they’re original change them too

Yet another dig,Peter

Hpfp was less of an issue in later e89s,but still an issue that can happen.
