I've had my 2004 Z4 for 2 years now - Toledo Blue / beige interior. Bought it in June 2009 with 40,000 km from a fellow who retired several years ago from our company. He bought it in Florida and brought it back to the "great white north".
I've been browsing the Z-Forum site ever since I bought the car and it has been invaluable in addressing a number of issues - squeaks in the centre console where the roof latches on, cup holder issues, to name a few.
Since seeing some of the dash trim mods done by some owners (the piano black in particular), I'm now in the mood to tackle this one. I've looked through all the posts on dash trim removal but I'm stumped by the instruction that says that you need to remove / loosen the clip that is just inside the passenger side vent.

From Motortribe (translated from Italian to English)
"Then insert a hand into the air duct and right behind the front of the dashboard, you will feel with your fingers a little spring with a ring that even the panel to the frame, tighten enough to remove the wings of the clip (the type is the clothes peg) and pull it up."

I'm hoping that someone has some good photos / instructions on this - don't want to start pulling on the dash and damage something.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum :)

Just by chance I know exactly what this clip is you're talking about as I swapped over my dash trim this weekend (see thread about "Yellow M Seat"). Basically it's a clip that you squeeze two parts of it together before you can lift it upwards to release the dash panel trim. You can see the edge of the clip by removing the air vent but for a full view of it you can drop glovebox out (two clips in the roof of the glovebox towards the back) and remove the glovebox frame (6 torx bolts). You can then see the back of the dash and it all becomes clear. I couldn't have removed it without this view. Sorry, I didn't take any pics when I did mine.

Welcome! Sorry I can't help with your query but just thought I would get in first with this...

Thanks to both members for their quick response - one for the guidance and one for reminding me about the photo (I had a feeling I was going to get that one). I'm not at my home computer where I have all my photos - will post tomorrow.
Love this site - nothing like being part of the Commonwealth!

Sorry, it's to be expected. Look forward to seeing some photos when you have them. Hopefully someone will be along shortly to answer your question.

Hello fellow Ottawan! :roundel: I'll have to keep an eye out for your blue Zed. I'm usually in the deep west end.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome.
I hope I haven't screwed up the attached photos - I may wear out that warm welcome in a hurry!
