Didn't see the bit about Cat D. Definitely to avoid. You can also place a 'wanted' ad on Pistonheads - it doesn't cost anything.

Nearly but not quite. I think its 218bhp vs 231bhp. Doubt you'd notice much difference though the 3.0i may have a better bottom end torque distribution.

I believe all 3.0i models had M sport suspension as standard.
 
The 3.0 have standard features which a 2.5 doesnt... Electric memory seats, auto wipers.

Electric seats may seem pointless, but are handy if more then one driver.

So I had a look at my finances and I can't access my savings until early November so will have to wait a couple of weeks and see what is out there! I'm too excited about getting my hands on a Z4 though and don't want to wait :P
 
Had a bit of a hunt this weekend to get a feel for the cars. Bothered a couple of dealers just to have a look really :P

Had a look at this one and gave it a quick test drive with the girlfriend. In good nick really and felt pretty well screwed together. The "uprated" brembo's were a tad squeaky mind, and I'm not entirely sure about the wheels. Had an "AC Schnitzer" steering wheel too which actually felt ok. In general, quite nice with the black and cream interior. The auto box was pretty reasonable but I want a manual :P
The dealer here was really quite nice actually. The only pushing he did was giving us the keys to take it out for a spin! Nice genuine chaps.

Then had a look at this one. Low miles and in very good nick throughout. No dints, with the odd scratch that should polish out. Again, not what I'm looking for but interesting to see none the less. For 9500 I think it's definately on the expensive/overpriced side.
This dealer was a tad more pushy but seems ok.

The excitement is mounting! Need to keep some patience so I don't let my heart rule my head/wallet! :)

Average mileage with heated seats. I think I like the merlot red and the elipsoids :). Has just been serviced and new rear tyres (must be worth a small sum of money in itself).

Now it has freeview apparently, does that also mean nav?

Thoughts on the price?
 
Hasn't this already been posted by someone tonight? I've definitely seen that AT add today from a post on here?! Looks good though :) Hard to tell though without knowing more info such as SH etc...
 
Ha sorry woody, I'm being greedy and have two threads going at the moment, one here and one in the buying/selling section.

Think i'll give the chap a call tomorrow and find out more about the service history, then potential viewing over the weekend.

Aye, well the inspection 2 (without inspection 1 mind) is from http://www.marquesofdistinction.co.uk/ (by googleing the number).

Looks to be now due a service mind. (3 years since last and 12k miles). What service would that be?

Thanks gazrobbo. looks like a lovely car but I don't think I can stretch that far! Having doubts over the fully loaded one thats up for 7450...

And the reason for this doubt is this:

Its a 2.5 with 76k and full bmw sh. Would I be really annoyed with myself for not getting the 3.0? That one sounds like a bargain at 5150...
 
you will get a 3 litre for your budget, so if thats what you want you should hold out until the right one comes along, otherwise you will always regret it.

the power and noise from the 3.0 is awesome, plus the extra bonus of a 6 speed gearbox over the 2.5.

I've just lost my job so mines going up for sale shortly I'm afraid. It's a 3.0 SMG and I bought it only 2 months ago!
