New Member - looking to buy Z4M...!

Afternoon all!

I'm currently an e46 'vert owner, but have decided it's time to finally go for the car I've wanted since it came out - a Z4 roadster in //M-flavour. :wink:

(That and the garage at my new place is just too tight to be comfortable for the fat e46, so a smaller Z4 will be easier to get in and out of!)

Does anyone have any tips/advice about looking for a Z4M and the Z4 generally- anything I should avoid and really watch out for?

I'd like to get one with as many toys as possible (aftermarket sat nav is just a hassle with wires everywhere) and have a budget of ~£18k.
Ideally Imola red or Interlagos blue, but a good deal in another colour is always a good deal...

All input would be appreciated. :)

Ok for a child seat though, and if it was a 330cd with a spanish gearbox rather than an auto ci I would be talking with the guy about a possible deal. :thumbsup:
 
Hi all, I'm back....!

Still in the e46 - decided to wait to grow my cash pool a bit after buying my first house in July last year :?

I've still been looking at Z4's, but also looked recently at e46 M3s, 911s and even TVR Tuscans...

911 - Great, but poverty spec on my budget
M3 - Too similar in looks to my 330, would like something different
Tuscan - looks stunning, soiled myself by hitting 100 in 2nd gear.

So... I'm back to the Z4 M-sports again. ;)

I think I'd rather have a VERY high spec 3.0 sport Z4 rather than the Z4M with the higher running costs/insurance.

- Are they any major differences between the 2.5 and 3.0 Z4s?
- Is the 3.0 the same engine as that in my current e46?

no the engine in the 3.0 si (2006 on) is the n52 engine with 265 bhp (the pre 2006 one is the same as yours)

Mines an e86, totally different drive, the only thing i miss is the space its handy sometimes having 4 seats, but we have the mini too.

pin sharp reactions from the accelerator and steering is the main joy for me.

no regrets :)

It's 99% of what I'm after...

Carbon black, pearl Oregon heated leather, sat nav, AC, auto, 3.0si, only 10k miles.
Only negative are the 135 alloys (same I have on my 330 at the moment), would have preferred 108s, but they look undamaged so may end up selling them to get some 108s or Z4M alloys.
