new member- looking for Z4 Coupe

Looking to spend 10k or less.

Must be Z4 coupe.

I have a bmw x5 2004 if anyone is interested in px or i will sell privately for 6k.

Can never understand why anyone would insist on the coupe. I dont have any problem with them but for a car designed as a two seater top down car why have a permanent roof on it. If you dont want to put the roof down then just leave it up. A coupe must reflect poorly in resale value and limit your choice.

A coupe is a great choice, i'm biased, but not everyone wants to have the roof down or compromise on sportscar qualities for the sake of wind in your hair (especially in a country that's known for grey wet weather).

Regarding resale value - i'm only familiar with the Z4M market, but coupes consistently command a significant premium at resale.

You live and learn as I would have thought there would be less demand for a coupe. You get all the disadvantages of a two seater but non of the benefits.

I couldnt disagree more. The E86 epitomises a good looking sleek lined coupe while the roadster is a stark ugly contrast in comparison. The roof completely destroys the look of the car top up or top down. This is of course just my personal taste & opinion but im sure a lot of coupe owners will agree with me.

For me the Coupe is something special but the roadster is just another car.. Sorry if this offends anyone this is not the intent of this post.

I agree that the coupe is prettier, but I wouldn't say the roadster is stark and ugly at all. It's a gorgeous car, but the coupe is much prettier/rarer.

I have absolutely zero wish to drive an open top car. My wish was for a two seater or (2+2) coupe, and the Z4C ticks every box. Love it.

Gd luck on your search OP. We're a few months off needing an X5 sadly, otherwise might've taken look :)

None of the benefits? I am completely failing to see this point of view. Your logic suggests that two-seater hard tops are pointless? I suspect Ferrari, McLaren, et al might have differing opinions. Presumably you would consider the 3.0si or the 3.2M engine as a benefit...? ;)

You are in a minority thinking that. You only have to look at the values of coupes verses roadsters to see which is more desirable.

What coupe owners need to remember is that their car wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the superior roadster.

:P No way offended but c,mon  E85s are stark & ugly but you bought a X4 :? presumably because you thought it looked stylish
Both models have their plus points & recently watching the market i see a closing of the gap RE valuations & demand between the 85s & 86s :o

How about this one: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=81803

I dont think I came across correctly in the statement. E85s are not stark ugly on their own but in comparison to the coupe I believe they are.

As for the X4 its the best looking car out there right now :-)

Someone should probably buy that one.

But thank mr bangle that he came to his senses and corrected his design :poke:

To the OP, good luck in the search, my only suggestion would be to save a few more pennies for an zmc

Coupes have their allure, and the Z is beautiful as a coupe, but IMHO the Z series was designed to be a roadster, hence topless. My passion has always been Corvette and I have had the pleasure of owning 3 of them, none convertible (1980, 1985, 1991) as the only true convertible was the 1953-1962 designs and they were all roadsters. Once Corvette moved away from roadsters, they should have not gone topless. All my opinion, but cars that are designed as roadsters should stay convertible and leave the cages to sedans.

For you non-Harley types, cages are what we call enclosed autos.
