Greetings all!

I am a new Z4 owner having just purchased a 2003 3.0. I commute on the Southern California freeways (the notorious 405) about 64 miles round trip, so the car is perfectly equipped for me with the Steptronic. I am replacing a 2012 VW GTI (no more car payments) and the new Z4 will share garage space with my 87 Porsche 930. I have already gleaned tons of valuable information from the site and hope to become a regular here.

Here's a pic of my Merlot Red 3.0:

Hope I got the link right...

Cheers,
Eric

Welcome, Southern California is ideal for having a roadster.Plenty of sunshine to make the most of your Z4.The GAS is a dam sight cheaper as well in the U.S. compared to the U,K.

Merlot is a classy colour! Welcome! your sure to find plenty of help and information here.

PS Wish I was in California instead of Dorking.

Don't forget Breaking Bad next Sunday!

Wish I lived there!!!

Great car the colour roof combo is rare. Yet 2 this week!!!

Great looking car  I only have 2 more payments on mine :)

Thanks for the nice welcome, and thanks, Stuart, for linking the pic for me.

So, to use the bbcode from Flicker, do I just paste it in the body of the message?

(Edit) Okay, I figured it out: Here's the Zed's garage mate:

Beautiful combo of metal and mohair. Welcome to the forum sandsini
We'd like to see lots of Life-with-a-Zed-in-Cali photos please!

Thanks everyone! I love the car and am taking it on a trek through the Central California costal mountains and inland foothills next week with some of my old car buddies. We are going to visit the Carmel Street Concours (part of the Pebble Beach event), and then are taking three days to blast over some of the most amazing roads in the state. I have already replaced the tires and have scheduled time to do a good safety inspection and fluid change this weekend. It should be very fun.

Cheers,
Eric

Sandsini-
Welcome to the Forum - nice to see another member from Southern California.
Wish I had seen your post a week ago - I could have given you some places to stop in Santa Barbara County on the way up - but reading your post, you did just fine on your own.
Love the color of your car - (both of them). Someone here at work also has a Merlot, but it has been terribly neglected, and has lost most of it's appeal....
