Hi, I'm new here!! - I've only recently discovered this forum after deciding to buy a Z4M Coupe - (I hope!!!) :D

I'm just selling my MB SL55 and have been looking at a few replacement options, such as the Z4M or Cayman.

The SL was not my daily driver (Lexus RX) and I was going to sell both and get a M3, but ive decided to keep running the Lexus and therfore don't need a 4- seater.

I haven't driven a Z4M yet although I have owned a 2006 (i think) Z4 3.0 in the past and really enjoyed it, but family practicalities at the time meant a more practical 330 BMW took over, then a E46 M3, then into MB ownership..etc, etc. :driving:

So, despite having the SL, it's the Z4M Coupe that's turning my head, really love the profile and lines (although I'm unconvinced as yet about the headlight looks), and think it'll be more practical and useable than the SL which I was too precious about ( i will get that way with a Z4M too, but I'm in denial for now  :P ).

I've enjoyed reading the posts on the sites so far, been focusing on the buyer's guides, for sale sections etc... 8)

At the moment I'm leaning towards a blue (interlagos?) Z4M Coupe with as many extras as I can find, I'm thinking black leather, SatNav, preferably manual, but haven't understood the auto options yet. I love the CSL style wheels, but I can add these afterwards I feel. :?

Is there anything else I should be considering? 8)
Were there many updates / changes in the short time they built the Z4M ? Am I best looking at latest, lowest mileage I can get? 8)

Thanks in advance
Tim

Welcome, good luck with your search.
I'm sure the ///M Guy's and Gal's will be along shortly with some advice

Hi and welcome to the forum

There are many guys on here who can help you with various upgrades, Beedub, Exodus and mmm5 to name a few, Z4M2006 has a wealth of knowledge too :driving:

As for buying check the running in service has been done on time. 1200miles +\- 600 iirc and that its had an oil and brake fluid change every 2 years if it's not hit the service indicator mileage

Welcome, good choice of car 8)
There is no auto option on the ///M's, its a manual box that likes to be man handled :driving:
Good luck with your search!

Oooohm the SL55. What a lovely thing. welcome along

She's a stunner for sure - I've just sold her via Ebay - (the advert is still live as I'm awaiting full payment) - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131529330467?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

But hopefully will finalise this week and be in a position to buy a Z4M to enjoy the Summer with. :driving:

Thanks for the welcomes....

Have a taster on some of the mods that can be done with this Z4MC, imo the best car on the forum 8)

Wow - Love that look, what are the lowering options? Presumably aftermarket springs? 8)

This look works for me - BMW-Z4M-1.jpg :D

H&R or Eibach springs are the cheapest option for a small ride height drop and slightly improved handling.
Coilovers are the go to option if you want a drastic improvement in handling and are considering a track day or two.

hello and welcome

does it need to be an M? there are nice examples of non M's to be picked up, you could also have the option of the auto box

It does I feel, after the 520+ hp of the SL, I would miss the power too much...
Thanks though...
