I have recently bought a 2003 2.5 litre with 55k on the clock.

I can't attach a 'photo yet as the car is half covered in snow which has frozen onto it. I don't fancy sliding the car on runflats around the iced-up roads on our estate. The tramlining is bad enough on dry roads.

It is due to thaw in a couple of days. I'll make it look more presentable and photograph it then.

I am hoping to do most repairs and maintenance myself. If I come across any shortcuts or good ideas I will be happy to share them.

Welcome to the forum, I'm in Lancs too - as are several active members, perhaps you can join us in the Spring on some local meets :driving:

Welcome to the forum oldgit (from another old git).

Looking forward to the photos.

Welcome on board. :) Replacing the run flats with normal tyres and a can of goo should cure the tram-lining, if all else is good.

It’s a well known fact lancastrians have the best taste in cars .. and some great roads to drive them on :)

Welcome

Oi - that's how wars start! - says the man who moved from Cheshire to Yorkshire then Norfolk.

By the way welcome OP - be good to see photos when you get it out from under the ice.

Hi OG and hello from Rossendale. Snow is now gone here, replaced by a bit of hail but Zed is itching to come out of early hibernation for one last spin :driving: I was certainly tempted today... :D

Welcome Oldgit :) Longridge a great spot for drives out in the Ribble + Bowland fells :driving:
Don't suppose you visit "Hoppy Days" in the town ?

We have been meaning to call in to "Hoppy Days" but have just not got around to it yet. I believe it has had some very good reviews. It is only 5 minutes' walk from home. We really must try it.

We finally have a day without snow, rain, sleet, hail or fog and I've cleaned the car at last. Photos attached. It's not perfect but I've cleaned two cars this morning in a temperature of zero degrees and I didn't want to hang about outside.
I presume it's a bog standard Z4 but I don't care - I like it. I'll have another go at polishing the headlights tomorrow then I'll clean the interior.
