Hi All,
Just to say high, just picked up a Z4 3.0 si Auto.

Love it already and came over form the Audi TT MK1 side.

BUT, check engine light has come on!! I have the scan software so going to scan tomorrow and check the fuel cap as put fuel in yesterday.

Done short trips as well as a 200+ motorway journey. Engine is running OK with no miss fire, Bt it was very cold today.

Any help???, once scanned I will post again for help

Had VagCom for the Audi, can yo get similar BMW software??

Rob

Yes, you can get similar software for your zed, most here (me included) use this. He'll normally accept an offer of £20 + P&P

i use Torque app on android to scan and clear the fault codes :D

btw ,i've replaced my tt whit the z4 too

Just a note of warning ... I bought a similar looking product from an ebay dealer with a name like: bmwcables-co-uk. It was total crap ... the cable itself might connect OK, but the software that is provided is antiquated junk that relies on layers and layers of emulation software ... The installation was the most complicated and messy idiotic backward turd I have ever encountered on a computer ... after painstakingly working through a 55 page INSTALL manual, it took about 15 hours to install, failed anyway, didn't even know what a Z4 coupe was (it only knew about the older E85 models ... not the E86) ... and the person who sold the cable/software failed to provide any support. So take care.

Interesting - I've held off buying something like this assuming that at this price it probably wouldn't do all it promises or would be a pig to install and use, I take it from your recommendation that you found it's OK? and as a matter of interest what sort of jobs have you done with it?

I use it only for reading/clearing error codes etc. Others have used it for indicator repeats, rear light module changes. If you search for INPA there are a number of threads, here and here for example

Cheers for that I'll have a read-up on it
