Hi all,

I've had my first Zed for around a year now (daily driver) - E86 Z4 Coupe 3.0si Sport, 2007. I'm not historically a petrol-head and have minimal mechanical knowledge, but it has become a bit of a 'pride and joy', despite a number of issues since ownership! I’ve read the forums a little and it seems like a great resource with the experience on here.

Things I’ve had done so far:
  • Key barring
  • New front roundel badge fitted
  • New steering column fitted (following complete electric steering failure)
  • Oil service and sidelight bulbs replaced
  • Black kidney grille fitted
  • Stubby aerial fitted
  • New wheel centre caps fitted
  • New alternator fitted (following breakdown)

I will do another post with some info on the latest issue, as I’m contemplating a couple of options and advice would be useful!

Hi & Welcome

Is one of the options, putting a proper aerial back on :poke:

and just to say....
:worthless:

Welcome to the forum, and the exclusive Coupe club!

I'm looking forward to seeing a photo.

Stubby aerial is staying firmly in place! As my luck has been, the whippy sheared off and had to be drilled out, but it's a much improved look and the radio still works :)

I changed jobs shortly after getting the car. Doing double the mileage I was expecting to (started at 92K, now up to 100K!!), which is a shame. I'm not overly disappointed - having the car is a bucket list kind of thing and my commute might be changing again later in the year.

Trying to look after it well to the best of my (limited) knowledge - weekly washing, bodywork and wheels hand-polished and sealed, bumper scuff and stone chips touched-up with colour-matched paint, leather seats cleaned and conditioned. Looking to do all this again in the coming weeks (mostly Autoglym stuff), plus a clay bar once over.

Bad light photo below. Will try taking more when it's back from the garage (cracked wheel just before MOT due :( ).

Lovely looking coup, its about the enjoyment the car brings. Anyone not using a car for fear of giving it miles has the wrong approach the owning these things. Enjoy the car and life to the fullest today not tomorrow as you never know what will happen in the future.

:)

Looks nice and tidy for a hatchback (shame about the aerial) You can get the wheel welded or there are single wheels on ebay

Your car looks great OP.

I hope you are enjoying it, the 3 litre N52 is a great engine - just needs some revs!

Ignore the "hatchback" comments - at least it isn't a pram-top. :poke:

Thanks for the replies!

Thanks - got it welded in the end.

I was thinking about 108 refurb vs. CSL replicas (also ditching the run-flats), but needing to replace the tyre has put that on hold for the moment.

More things now done:

  • Weld repair for cracked wheel
  • New run-flat tyre
  • Full wheel alignment
  • New rear brake pads, discs and wear sensor
  • Handbrake adjusted
  • New PDC sensor fitted
  • De-badged rear
  • MOT'd
