New M40i has arrived

In February this year my dealer called me as she had a cancelled order for a Z4 build. Always willing to do a swap, I jumped on it and was due to get delivery in April. However some Russian idiot decided to invade his neighbour which threw my timescale out of the window. It got delayed by two months but finally arrived this week.
Yesterday was pick up day and I must say, it was worth the wait.

I've already added door lights, wheel centres and badges with the BMW M50 emblem. I wanted them officially but I couldn't change the order without delaying it further. Anyway AliExpress was much cheaper than BMW and the quality seems the same.

My only missing option is the wireless charging which wasn't available when I spec'd the car. Not a deal breaker in any case.

Lovely! I’m thinking of getting the m 50 badges on my car. Don’t trust myself to fit them though!

I sorted out the lack of wireless charging by putting a MagSafe under the mat. Works better than bmw original!

Enjoy the new car!

I keep my iphone In a folder/case- does the charger work ok thro that increased thickness?

I’ve got an armoured case with space in the back for 2 bank cards, which I carry, and mine charges through that

AliExpress

Very nice car  Could you post a link for the M badges you bought as thinking about getting these and don`t want to end up buying a poorer quality set . Thanks . Never thought I would put an M badge on a non M car but really like the motorsport heritage .

Here's a link to the ones I bought.

The quality is really good and pretty much the same as the OEM badges in truth. My only observation is that the semi circle lines are a little thinner than the OEM M50 badges which must mean the BMW logo is just slightly larger.
Taking the front badge off was a challenge as BMW had used some bonding agent as well as the pins to locate it. The boot badge was easier to remove.

Congratulations, they are an exceptional car and well worth the wait, hoping you have lots of fun in the coming months
