New Loose Gravel Resurfaced Road

One of the A roads by me is being resurfaced at the moment and is at the loose gravel stage. I drove through it at the 20 mph it said but after I'd got on to normal road again my car felt quite skittish. Hard to explain but I got the the traction control to come on round a bend I usually drive much faster around and it just felt a bit weird.

I'm going to give this A road a wide berth for the next few weeks but has anyone felt this before or is it all just in my head? ;-)

I've seen a few cars binned on roads with fresh gravel surfaces. You cant be too careful on them...

I was very careful on the fresh gravel but it was after the fresh gravel on a normal bit of Tarmac I found the skittishness.

20 mph... tyres obviously went cold.

They reshingled the old A20 near me & had no alternative to turn round & avoid, felt as if car was driving on snow, yuk. Trust all sorted now.

They've just put the anti-skid stuff outside my front door and added a pedestrian crossing (and then added anti-skid at every single trafficlight junction near my home..)

I'm not confident i'd want to slam my brakes on whilst on it... i watched them lay the stuff, its just pebbles glued to the road! :headbang:

Seemed fine this morning so I'll just put it down to the loose shingle. I'll remember that for the future as well!
