Allow me to elaborate. The site looks great (even though I prefer blue, but that's just my opinion).

But the chavvy, wikkid car cartoon is terrible. It makes my eyes sad.

Again, this is just my opinion, man.
 
I too, think it generally looks good but I don't like the cartoon car. In my opinion it's something more suited to Corsa C UK. Good work though. I like red.
 
Has BMW provided funding for the site or something? I don`t mind the cartoon car quite so much although my first impression was 'ugh', my bigger issue is that the site now just has a single car, a cartoon car of the New Z4. Would prefer the old style header with proper car diagrams and with the New Z4(non-cartoon) in the middle of the two old cars (the Roadster and Coupe), or something along those lines. HAving just the New Z4 Cartoon car in the header might put owners of the old Z4`s off from registering and makes me feel the New Z4 is being imposed on us(hence my comment about BMW funding the site). I can imagine some members of the site would now be a little more tempted to buy the New Z4 because of it, it`s kinda advertising the new Z4 each time we visit the site
 
Minor point, but I see the 'new posts' has become 'New Z4 Posts'. Bugs me each time I click it.

Def some strong feelings re the cartoon car - I said it before, but I'll reinforce now I've seen it a good few times and I loathe the damn thing. :thumbsdown: :thumbsdown: :thumbsdown:

Rest of the site looks really good :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
 
Any chance of the flashing commercial being supressed? I know on other forums it is there on the first entry, but not after you have changed page once. The flashing makes it more "unsuitable for work" as it attracts attention. The static one underneath is ok.

Not quite with the cartoon logo either ...

But thanks of course for the time spent on working on this :thumbsup:

I'll see what I can do regarding the banner... not a fan of flashing banners either, hadn't realised when I added it that it was a flashy one.. Will take a look tonight

Thats because you added yourself to the "exclude lounge from new posts" user group. If you resign from that group it will just say "new posts".

Nope.. other than the occasional donation and the tiny bit of ad revenue all the funding comes straight out of my pocket

LOL, now I see what you mean... "new Z4" posts... didn't spot the double meaning. Will change it this evening :D

I've never been a fan of those squished cartoon cars with the big lopsided wheels, although some people really dig them. I would agree that I'd like to see an e85, e86, and an e89 at the top of the site.
 
could we not run a panoramic competition similar to the banner challenge and vote for a new one every now and again?


and to reiterate..... great forum, and good work to keep it going for us all! cheers :driving:
