Just thought I’d do the right thing and post here as a new owner and new joiner to this forum. Just bought a 58 plate 2.0i Sport which is great. Though the roof motor misbehaving despite me checking the operation thoroughly before buying is a bit galling!
But love the car!
(Would post an image if I could work out how to not get it upside down...)

Hi and welcome to the forum.

There are a few people on here who can revive tired roof motors and relocate them into the boot to avoid them getting wet due to water from the roof drains (BMW didn't choose a very sensible location for them). Someone will point you in the right direction if you give an indication of whereabouts you are.

Photos usually work OK if you use the "Add files" button on the left below the text box you type your post in. Failing that there are some members who have the skill to rotate them - but I'm not one of them!

Welcome to the fold, if you are trying to upload a photo from an iPhone for some reason it will post it upside down, way to solve it is edit the photo, trim the size slightly so it will allow you to save the changes then rotate it 360 deg and save. Will then post the correct way up, I have to do this every time I upload a photo :headbang:

Maybe the mods could look into getting the webpage updated to allow rotation when you are uploading the photo?

Thank you - a very warm welcome. I am on the Isle of Wight, so I suspect RBM in Hook is my closest?

Tried most of those tweaks re photo upload and still no joy... :headbang:

And just booked myself in with Ross for this Friday.

Dealer a bit suspicious and wanted his own guy to look at it but we’ve worked out a deal...

Ross is a top fella, he will sort your issues

Ross will solve your issues - he's been sorting roof motors for quite a while:- https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=73041

But since he set up independently he can do pretty much whatever your Z4 might need.
