Hello,

my name is Thorsten and I'm living in the southern part of Germany. Therefore do not always expect perfect written english language.

My Z4 career started in 2010 when i bought a Z4 sDrive 30i which was 9 month old and a pre rental car of Sixt. During the years some modifications we made and I was nearly happy with this car with the exception of the automatic gearbox.

When we heard in 2015 first rumors that production of E89 can stop soon we decided to make an upgrade to brand new 35is. I ordered it with nearly full options just a few which made no sence for me like TV were not booked.
As we are living just 120km north of Munich it was clear that we will pick up the Z4 directly at the BMW World. As I could choose the day of pick up I made my own birthday present and "the day" was on my 48 birthday.

As I like to do always some adjustments on my car it was clear that also the Z4 35is will get some modifications. The Z4 is just a boys toy and does not need to fit as a daily driver.

On the pictures below you can see last updates. Currently we are on holidays with three E89 at the southeast coast of Sardinia. Enjoying the nice rides on fantastic roads.

If you have any special questions, just let me know.

Welcome

Looks sweet... what a way to spend your birthday too! Your English is more than likely much better than mine

Wilkommen! Z4 is striking in that colour. Looks like the wheels were first to go, along with a lowering that gives it a more aggressive stance.
I'm curious to know if prices for BMW are cheaper there than the rest of Europe/UK? It might seem like an obvious question, but (1) I don't live in UK/Europe, and (2) We produce a huge amount of milk here in NZ but you think we can get it cheap? :x
Genießen Sie das Forum

@enzed

Vielen Dank.

To be honest, not the wheels were the first modifications. First thing we changed still in the BMW world was the long antenna against a short one from Peugeot  Just back home she got black kidneys and spacers.
At around 1.000km the springs were changed for Eibach springs and H&R stabilizers (not sure if that is the right word). Next step was to remove the runflat tyres against some nice Michelin Super Sport. At same time some parts like mirror caps and others were painted black.
A few month later I got an offer for a brand new set of original M4 437M rims in 9 & 10 x 19" were i could not say no
Somewhere in between I got the grills of the 35i into the front bumper (without the silver wings) and a carbon fibre race style diffusor.
Just a few weeks ago again an offer were you cant say no. KW suspensions offered after a german tuning fair just for one saturday a discount of 25% on all items in their online shop. I had to order a KW V3 which was build in including the set up by a german raceteam near the Nürburgring who have a lot of experience with Z4 tuning.

Regarding your question of costs the total price without discount for the Z4 35is (including chossen options) was in 2015 € 72.500,- including german tax of 19%.

Welcome to the forum - Some greats photos, that first picture of your 30i has to be one of the best I've seen of the E89

Thanks to all for your positive feedback.

Sometimes I trying to find nice locations to shoot some pictures with my Canon 60d of my baby.

Wow, you have clearly put a lot of thought into those mods/additions to the car - very nice, and must make for a great ride (hopefully not too harsh on 19" wheels with lowered suspension?) At least no run flats which should make it a bit more comfortable.
Looking at those pics on the boat launching ramp, that would not have been a good time for the e-brake to decide to fail
Tschüss
