Be good to see where you route the pipes and cables ? I've always wondered how best to re-route them into the boot , I hate mess so laying them on the top of the roof shelf just seemed messy in my mind , but I've never tried it . What are your intentions with this ?

Ok, Tug, sounds easy enough. So with the motor out of its container there is obviously enough hydraulic pipe work length and electrical power cable to reach the boot recess ? And I understand clamping the pipe work etc under the bracket but can you then see the pipe work , power able and bypass cable laying around on the shelf through the rear window ? And I assume the bypass cable needs to be unclipped from the roof hoop to facilitate this mod ?
Hi mate, no need to unclip the lines, they are adequately long enough to do the job. Although, as they pass over the rubber container where the motor sat, it might help cutting a half moon out of the rim which will make the job invisible from the outside.
There will be no evidence of lines at all as the shelf hides this.
The boden line is also adequate for this job too without unclipping.

A small cutout in the frame of the hood "shelf" is all that's required to prevent chafing of the lines. They are long enough for it to comfortably sit in the boot area without straining. You are all aware also, that this job can EASILY be done WITHOUT removing the roof, or any interior trim, in around an hour or so? Cheers Tug but from what you say and what I remember the cables will be visible if you look through the rest window and down towards where the motor was originally positioned , as they have to lay onto of the drain panel before you tuck them under the shelf bracket surely ?

Cheers Mike I have already seen that topic , but from memory I don't understand how the cables can't be seen from the near side frame post ( where they were originally from ) over the near drainage tray until they disappear into the cutout you mention and under the shelf bracket ? Or am I missing something ? Because being anal about cleaning I often wipe those drainage shelfs when doing cleaning so I know o can see them through the rear window .

To be honest, my rear window is tinted, not sure if they all are? If I cup my hands over the glass, I can just about make out the cables and lines, I tried to take a picture but there was nothing to be seen at all.
