new hard top

Im just looking into the respray costs for these as i dont wanna get shafted once i get one here. As long as its reasonable il try and sort it in the next couple of weeks. I also thought if there are a number of people who 100% want one i could ask about a discount for order and collecting 5 at the same time. Cannot hurt!

A couple of you have mentioned you are away for a few days so il hold off doing anything until after the bank holiday weekend as im away from Thursday next week. If we get firm interest then we can sort something end of the month.

Send me a pm with firm interest, colour and where you are in the country and il have a word with BMW Munich, the carrier and check how much to deliver onto you if you are not in the area.

Post code area is IP28 if you want to check distance from me.

if you dont have a hard top and the car isnt garaged how likely is the hood to leak etc over the winter.

are they pretty hardy things the hoods and just a decent clean and protect using the autoglym thing would be enough? i dont think i have enough money to buy a hood but if in 2/3 winters out i need a new hood and it costs a bit in upkeep then in the long run a top might be the better option. they have them in merlotrod which im guessing is my car caolour

I've had mine just over a year, and it's parked on the street in all weathers. Not a drop has come through

I think the concern is not from the fabric rotting, more so from it loosing its colour from sun damage

But as long as regular maintenance is carried out, then im sure they will look good for years to come

Probably not at all likely.

The real risk on these cars of being kept outdoors in wet weather is water ingress into the roof motor housing, so make sure that the drain holes for your roof motor are kept clear!

thanks, really i dont have the money at the mo as my house has still not been rented out so im paying twice. also i have nowhere to keep the damn thing when its not on the car.

my concern was of any damage to the fabric from water/frost/snow/etc if keeping outdoors was liekly to result in expensive damage during the winter then a hard top makes sence. if its just the case of doing an autoglym tratment twice a year then id rather go for that

Hi,
I did try to have a look on the website but could not see if there was sapphire black available.
Have you got enough people interested??
Thanks.

Colours available are as follows:
Monaco Blue 599 Euros More than 10 Available
Merlotrot 599 Euros 6 Available
Deep Green Metalic 599 Euros More than 10 Available
Montego Blue 599 Euros More than 10 Available
Toledo Blue 599 Euros More than 10 Available
Maldives Blue 599 Euros More than 10 Available

Not sure on firm numbers as yet, but once we have an idea il try and get a further discount on them. Ive got a price of £250 to have them taken apart and fully resprayed, liner out, spoiler off etc. Which doesnt seem too bad. Had a quote of 495 from another place.

Again, if i shipped 4 or 5 with my carrier and needed to get them all painted at the same time might be able to do a deal on the painting too. Lots to think about once numbers get confirmed, but as i said earlier cannot do anything unitl after the bank holiday weekend.

So Worst case looking at running about £850 to buy, import and have sprayed to your own colour.
