Hi all,

Well it goes like this,

Going to work at 05.30 on march 1st,
Lots of rain so taking it easy in my Mercedes E320 Sport when all of a sudden I lost control on a straight road and aqua planed into a big old tree bringing me to a sudden stop and breaking my lower back , 2 Ribs, Fractured wrist and a bit of bruising here and there.
Came out of hospital Yesterday and here I am.

Looking for my first Z4 Roadster for some summer top down fun..

Stuck on bed rest for a few days yet but will soon be up and about.

So am after

3.0 litre Si
Automatic,
Black with a contrasting interior and all the gadgets it can muster (I know there aren't many)

Music, I really like my music in the car so is it best to go for the sat nav bells and whistles and try to improve or go for standard 6 speaker system and rip it out to start again.

Have been reading loads before joining today and you seem like a great bunch of helpful people. Love getting out to shows and stuff with my better half so no doubt be meeting some of you in the future.

there is a very nice well specced 2.5 auto on the forum for sale... I think if an auto is a must it would be worth considering other coloured cars as finding your desired colour and auto would be tricky... not impossible tho if your prepared to wait it out

Hi, welcome to the Forum and get well soon. I'm sure your perfect Zed is out there but you may need to be patient, no pun intended :D and be prepared to travel to find one with all the options you want. Good luck with your search.

An Auto is a must to be honest and a 3 litre Si at that.
Other coloured cars not a problem really but I do have plenty of time as will be in brace for 8 weeks.

Auto trader whittles it down with their search engine and a fair few come up at top money. (I have 8K)
but they are top money so car has to be right with right miles and history etc..

10 speaker dsp audio is plenty good enough imho...edit.. actually its pretty impressive tbh

Not heard one to be fair, Can speakers/ Amp be upgraded?

Welcome to the forum.
I guess you will have lots of time on your hands, and I can't think of anything better to do than search for a 3.0si roadster
You will have to be patient (and a little lucky) to find an auto with all the toys - most owners on here had to compromise, myself included. But one things for sure you won't be disappointed with the N52 straight six engine  Hope your recovery goes smoothly, keep us updated on your search :driving:

Yes it's got to be that N52 straight six.

Compromise no problem but you get your wish list together and go from their.

Will keep you all updated and thanks for your warm welcome

its tricky but a few peeps have done it... the dsp/carver system has 10 speakers including 2 sub woofers behind the seats... its a pretty impressive system for a factory fitted in car hifi... Ive always been one for upgrading my hifi but can honestly say I've not really felt like I've needed to with this system

Cheers buddy,

Best thing to do I think is to have a listen.

Can think of nothing much sweeter than me and the wife driving down the coast road with sun shining and Eagles blasting out their tunes,

Good luck with the recuperation and the new car search :)
Pics will be mandatory when you find one of course.

Thank you and of course... :D

I love my music in the car and my Merc has a very nice system, but in the Z all I want to hear is that Straight 6 singing at 6 k revs

Welcome along. Sounds like you've had a bit of a sore one but are hopefully on the mend. Good luck with your search. You are in the right place
