Well, My GF has worked for this little car for a good long time, and I just cleaned up the engine bay to take a couple of pics. My 07 Focus ST, Her 03 Z4 2.5T w/62XXX miles on the ticker. It was filthy under hood, so I cleaned up a bit and threw in a K&N drop-in 'til I can afford to get a CAI, then split the exhaust(maybe, did I mention I'm a n00b?lol). A little rough around the edges, but I'll fix all that. Anyway, here:

Thanks for looking, comments are always welcome!

Nice car and welcome to the forum..

Save your money on a CAI. You will get little gains for spending a lot of money. If you really take a good look at the intake, you will see BMW did a very good job on designing that intake tubing... Not like an American car with weird looking stuff running all over the engine compartment...

One thing, unless its the lighting, her headlights look a little cloudy...

Thanks, All. Good to be Here. I'll be around asking all types of idiotic questions, so bear with Me, k?

Shipkiller, as far as the CAi goes, after looking around under hood, looks like I can just remove the stock airbox and attach a cone ritht to the MAF, maybe a 45 elbow, and call it good? By doing that, will I need to reset the ECU to get a proper fuel/air mix, or will the ECU relearn on Its' Own? Thanks again in advance.

Most Z4 drivers only see approx. 10HP gain with a REAL CAI. Most of the kits out there are not CAI's. They let HOT air into the air stream, which DECREASES your HP..... most of the good CAI's cost upwards of $500.00. Heavy price for 10HP...

The ECU will adapt. But I bet you won't feel it....

Just remember, this is a GERMAN car, not American or Japanese car. The Stock Z4 is maxed out from the factory. And, it's you GF's car. Not yours. She will love it with out the extra bits...

In all the cars I have had, it is more cost effective to get it from the factory.

That's way I am buying a Z4M at the end of the year.

Welcome. Focus ST? I assume it doesn't have the turbo 5 pot 2.5 in?

No, but I am saving for a Stg3 T3/T4 setup, probably run around $4000 including tune, should dyno around 225whp/240tq.

nice zed,not a ford person,there crap..

Funny, after the time that has passed since I posted last, I wouldn't trade My lowly Focus for Her Z4 if there were a gun to My head. I have since gone turbo, and am pulling over 300 to the wheel, and I don't have to worry about scraping My ass cheeks off bottoming out in the Z. Oh, and I like actually shifting, not pussying around with some faggot paddles.
