If you read my other post you can see I'm terrible at stuff like this and still manage, I just unscrewed the screw from the ash tray and pulled the whole thing out! Don't be too worried about giving a really tough pull! Once out unplug all the cables from the unit! I then used a pair of scissors to cut back the sticky cable cover and the just took my time in finding the correct wires to chock block ;-)

so I removed the module & re-fitted this morning, not sure what the issue was but it's working like a dream now...great bit of kit!!!
 
Well I have just fitted it. Had quite a scare!!!

While cutting back the black tape I accidentally split the purple and brown cable, so had to get a male and female plug to fix that (taking up room). I then fitted the rest of the wires as directed. Plugged it all back in and refitted ashtray etc.

One touch down, perfect, one touch up perfect!

Key fob down, one window went down and that was it, so got in the car and put the window back up. With engine tarted put the roof down and got out the car to try key fob up. This worked fine except one window stayed down ??


So thought I'd try everything one more time, so ran through one touh up down. Perfect as before. Ten tried key fob up and down, and this time around worked perfectly. So not sure what was up with it? Did knock my confidence a little though?!?

Does this mod invalidate the warranty?
 
Oh jut to note I used the scotch clips. Wasn't too tricky. Never done soldering, so didn't want to do that.

Has anyone had problems using the scotch clips?
 
Installed mine this afternoon.

Those scotch locks are a PITA and had to give a bit of persuasion on a couple of them...

For Alpina owners be careful not to scuff the leather when re-fitting the assembly! (nearly got me!)

Once all in, works a treat :-) It hasn't effected me but it would be nice to know why there are some instances of windows not fully closing etc. Is this some function of BMW iBus software differences?

Finally fitted mine after work tonight, 20 minutes start to finish, all works perfectly..Sorted.

I don't have an Alpina so didn't need to worry but I found the scotch locks quite simple, But thanks for pointing out you have an Alpina Wobblewing :poke: :poke:

Last week for the first time ever I had a half open nearside window (passenger side, Nosa :D ) when closing the roof. Could not get it closed with the remote, so did it manually from the car. No idea why, never had it before.
 
Sorry Nosa - us M drivers have to be careful with the leather inserts as well.
